Building a PM program

A preventive maintenance program is a set of decisions about which equipment matters most, what can go wrong with it, and what inspection or task will catch that early. Aegis works through those decisions with your team and sets the program up so it runs.

• Equipment list and criticality ranking, so effort goes where a failure costs the most.
• Tasks and frequencies for each piece of critical equipment.
• Lubrication and inspection routes.
• Condition monitoring where it earns its place, such as vibration measurement and non-destructive testing.
• Setup in the maintenance system you already use, including SAP and Maximo.

Improving the program you have

Many plants already have a PM program that has grown over the years. Aegis reviews it task by task: which tasks never find anything, which critical equipment has no coverage, and where the backlog shows the workload does not match the crew. The result is a program your team can complete and trust.

Maintenance audits

An audit is an independent look at how maintenance is practiced at your plant, measured against reliability standards. Aegis reviews planning and scheduling, preventive maintenance, the storeroom, work order records, and how the maintenance team is organized, then reports what was found and a prioritized list of what to fix first.

Where this experience comes from

Founder Cristian Boar built and implemented the preventive maintenance organization at Holcim's Alesd cement plant, including its lubrication, vibration measurement, and non-destructive testing programs. He later optimized preventive maintenance routines and implemented online condition monitoring across a regional network of plants, and as a corporate reliability engineer led reliability improvement across all of a cement producer's plants.
